International Service & Summer Scholars Funds

The D.K. Kim Foundation and USC (University of Southern California) School of Pharmacy began their relationship in 2016 with the establishment of D.K. Kim International Service Fund, and the D.K. Kim Summer Scholars Program Fund.

The gift to the International Service Fund provides support for medical missions in the School of Pharmacy. The purpose of these medical missions are to train pharmacy students to become primary healthcare providers to patients living in underserved areas and provide medical services they may not otherwise receive.

The gift will also establish the Summer Scholars Program Fund, advancing regulatory science internationally by supporting a one-month summer scholars program for students from a variety of countries. The program will foster a collaborative, international learning environment focusing on areas relating to ethics, quality systems and regulatory science.

The funding allows us to advance unique programs related to global engagement that otherwise would be very difficult to support,” says Dr. Frances Richmond, Director of the International Center for Regulatory Science.
