Bosum Adebaki – Recipient of the UC Berkeley D.K. Kim Fellowship

“Beyond Yourself” is what drew me to Berkeley and the D.K. Kim Fellowship undoubtedly reinforces this value. We are all born into uniquely different circumstances and I truly believe that if we spend more time thinking about the long term impact of our actions and how we affect others, we’ll create a more sustainable world.

Each year Mr. D.K. Kim makes funds available to students who are a long way from home, supporting each of us in our quest to make a big impact on our communities. He is thinking about how we can support others and his generosity is having a lasting impression on the culture of the school.

Kai Ronald Nakkim – Recipient of 2018 Asia America Youth Symphony Scholarship

Dear Mr. D.K. Kim,

…With your encouragement, I will try my best and strive for greatness in any musical endeavor I encounter. This will allow me to use the talents that God has given me. I hope to use them to glorify Him. Thank you so much for blessing me with this scholarship. and most importantly, for believing in me. I will never forget you.
