The D.K. Kim Foundation has been involved with the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, (UCB) since 1997. The Foundation has contributed over $2 million to the University.

The Foundation chose UCB as the recipient of the funding due to its commitment and dedication to developing its students as more than just MBA’s, but rather as global citizens with a responsibility to improve their communities. The D.K. Kim Foundation echoes the Haas’ four defining principles for success:

    •       Question the Status Quo
    •       Confidence without Attitude
    •       Students Always
    •       Beyond Yourself

Mr. Kim believes the students who benefit from these fellowships will earn their MBAs, return to their home countries, and choose careers that have a positive influence on the largest number of people.  In early 2019, Mr. Kim had the opportunity to meet with some of the recipients of the D.K. Kim Foundation Fellowship fund. One of the students, Darren Le, wrote to Mr. Kim and said, “Thank you for giving me this opportunity.  I will continually remind myself that it will be my responsibility to give back and change others’ lives for the better whenever I can – just like how you made a difference to my life.”
